We've lived so long and are still, a story
Fourteen years ago, the canal, buildings: none of this was here. The Woodlands was rural; only recently, the development came with the park, the shopping centers--all the modern art because the founder likes it. Statues are everywhere, like the big boy reclining between The Woodlands Parkway. In the lake, a partially submerged sea dragon faces the bridge. Every year, the senior prank is to spray paint the whole thing pink. I paddled out to it once. Another time, I swam from the shore and stood on its head. It doesn't look that far, but distance in the water is so much longer.
