The sun peels the paint, a story

I'm defending a man, a contractor, whose worker died a few months ago. He was driving a forklift that tipped over and cut him in half. Nobody thought it was too bad until they lifted the machine and saw his legs, intestines, all of that smeared out like a rabbit on the highway. The tricky thing is, he wasn't certified to drive it. We should be all right, though, since no one can prove gross negligence. The worker didn't die for a week; apparently there's a 1 or 10% survival rate for amputations of the waist. It's happened before, but you have to have a strong mind and will to live. Moral of the story is don't jump out of a forklift.
